Kirpal Week of Loving Kindness, Bhubaneswar

Kirpal Week of Loving Kindness was celebrated in Darshan Academy, Bhubaneswar from February 2 through February 8, 2020. During the week the students donated biscuits and snacks and distributed them among the students of Chetna School of the Mentally Challenged. They also entertained them with a dance performance. It was an overwhelming sight watching the tiny tots shower their love, affection, and kindness on the Chetna School kids.

Yellow Day, Bhubaneshwer

The colour yellow represents happiness, hope, imagination, optimism and sunshine. The Darshanites of Darshan Academy, Bhubaneshwer celebrated Yellow Day on February 7, 2020. The primary objective of the celebration was to help the students recognize the primary colour yellow.

Week of Love and Service, Bhubaneswar

Darshan Academy, Bhubaneswar celebrated the week of love and service from 14 to 20 September, 2019. A food bank was arranged in which students donated potatoes, onions, and biscuits. In the hands of the Darshanites all was collected and distributed to the nearby temple for the poor people. The kids were happy to get an outing and parents were very happy that their kids got blessing from the poor.

Green Day, Bhubaneswar

Green day was celebrated in DA, Bhubaneswar on 27/09/19 with the teachers and students all dressed in the color green. The students made beautiful artwork and had fun with a variety of activities with the colour green. Darshan Academy, Bhubaneswar arranged a vegetable fest on 21/09/2019. It was a competition in which the students’ mothers prepared delicacies and the best items were selected for reward. The school’s coordinator addressed the mothers and spoke of the benefits of being vegetarian.

Teacher’s Day, Bhubaneswar

Darshan Academy, Bhubaneswar celebrated Teacher’s Day with enthusiasm on the 5 September 2019. The program was held in the prayer hall. The coordinator spoke about the significance of the day and gave a brief description of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan's life. She spoke of the importance of having a good teacher in our life. The students paid tribute to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by singing a gurubandana.

Annual Day Celebrations, Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar and Sundergarh

Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar and Sundergarh celebrated their Annual Day in an outdoor venue near Patia Big Bazar in Bhubaneswar. Guest of honour was Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj who visited Bhubaneswar, on February 16 and 17, 2016. He is the founder chairman of Darshan Education Foundation, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, twenty schools in twenty years - a huge milestone! A heart touching song announced the arrival of Maharaj Ji and Mata Rita Ji to the grounds. Children from Darshan Academy welcomed the guests with a song describing the inner light. This was followed by an uplifting spiritual discourse by Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj.
Following Maharaj Ji’s address, began the Darshan Academy Annual Day celebrations from the schools in Bhubaneshwar and Sundargarh. A welcome note with bouquet was presented to Maharaj Ji and Mata Rita Ji while a welcome dance was being performed by the students of Darshan Academy on the second stage. A brief report of the activities and progress of the schools was then read out. The program continued with song and dance performances by the students based on values and a vegetarian diet in various languages. The program concluded with a role play on how to create a better and kinder world and the famous Darshan Academy song, depicting the Academy’s goal to creating generations of peacemakers.
Maharaj Ji expressed his joy at the effort of the students to prepare, organize and perform so well in the program. The beautiful, unforgettable evening ended with a photo session with Maharaj Ji, Mata Ji and the students and staff of Darshan Academy.

Inter-school Drawing and Coloring Competition, Bhubaneswar

An Inter-school Drawing and Coloring Competition was held at Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar on 17th July, 2015. 110 students of different age groups from ten schools participated in the event. A multimedia presentation began the event. Guests included parents and other visitors. Students engaged in creating works of art and displayed amazing talent.

Inter School Song Competition, Bhubaneswar

Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar conducted an Inter School Song Competition on 21.06.15, on the occasion of World Music Day. The day celebrates the universal language of music. Judges of the competition were Ms Sanjukta Mohapatra, a renowned Music Teacher and Ms Rashmita Naik. Students performed various songs. The event also included a presentation on Communication Development through Drama by Helen O’ Grady International for the benefits of parents, teachers and students. Resource persons were, Dr. B.R. Mishra, Psychiatrist, and his wife, DR. Sayali Mishra, Clinical Psychologist. The whole program was a success.

Summer Camp, Bhubaneswar & Sundergarh

Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar hosted a four day summer camp at the school in May. Around 50 children participated in the camp. The theme was "Happiness." Students learned songs related to happiness, and engaged in various fun activities. They also reflected on what makes them happy. Students presented a few items to their parents on the last day of the summer camp. Parents attended an excellent talk by Ms Sharma on "Raising Happy Children through Meditation" on the last day. Teachers of Darshan Academy Bhubaneswar and Sundergarh took part in exciting afternoon training workshops during the week to support their teaching skills. A similar summer camp is scheduled at Darshan Academy Sundergarh from 12th to 16th May. The summer camp activities brought a smile on the faces of children.

Annual Day Celebration, Bhubaneswar

Darshan Academy, Bhubaneswar celebrated its first annual day on February 28 at the school premises at Lane-1, Jayadev Vihc.

The chief guest, Dr. Prasanna Patasani, Member of Parliament, spoke very highly about the inclusion of Darshan Academy’s spiritual curriculum in the children’s syllabus and the ten minute meditation per day which helps children to develop ethical values and concentration. After his address he awarded prizes to the achievers of different events.

Sri Debananda Naik, member of the school management committee, spoke a few words on the ideology for which Darshan Academies stand for not only in India, but also abroad. Maj. Kishor Kumar Naik, Manager, proposed a vote of thanks.

Spectacular parachute show, songs, dance, skit and ramp walk by children marked the celebration.

The Academy Head, Mrs. Mita Patnaik, said, that we at this Academy with the blessings of the Founder His Holiness Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj believe that on spiritual health depends the health of the body and mind. And on this philosophy all efforts are made to train our students so that they become good citizens and be a part of the generation of peacemakers.
